Do you know what monthly calendar towels are? Surely you have seen them -- most homes have them on their walls at one time or another. Starting Your Monthly Calendar Towels Collection
Obviously, most people do not purchase monthly calendar towels in order to use them for normal cleaning and drying. Instead , monthly calendar towels are purchased for the specific purpose of decorating a wall somewhere in their home. If you are interested in starting a collection of monthly calendar towels, you might want to begin by purchasing towels printed with calendars for significant years in you or your family's life -- such as a wedding anniversary, years of your children's birth, or monthly calendar towels that are a keepsake or souvenir of a special trip or family vacation. Before adding a new monthly calendar towel to your collection, examine it carefully. The towel should have all, or nearly all, of the printing and design work still visible. It should be free from stains, marks, or rips and tears. If necessary a monthly calendar towel can be gently cleaned, dried, and pressed -- but make sure that such cleaning and drying will not harm the fabric or the printing on it. If you wish your calendar towels can be displayed on any wall in your home -- special wall mounting hangers, which use rods to suspend the towel properly, can be purchased for use with your calendar towels. Avoid mounting your monthly calendar towel on walls which are extremely dirty or in environments where the air is filled with grease, grime, or smoke. Many people like to display a monthly calendar towel on their kitchen walls, but this is not always the best place for them. If you have more calendar towels than you can comfortably display on your walls, you can fold them very carefully and put them into thin, lightweight boxes for storage. Any towels which you have stored should be periodically examined for signs of damage or deterioration. In general, monthly calendar towels from the years 1950 -- 1960 are much more difficult to find and will be worth much more to the collector than towels printed from more recent years. You can expect to pay at least $15 -- $20 or more for a monthly calendar towel printed since 1969.
